What a trip to Seoul,South Korea without ever going to see The  YG Entertainment HQ building for the YG fans?

Be it VIP, Lucky 7, Blackjacks or 2NE1 (just naming some), even seeing the building itself brings joy & excitement to us, right?  Let alone being lucky enough to see the stars up close :D

Going to YG building is an experience. It's not too far though, the best way is to go by subway. Take subway Line 2 (Green). Off at Hapjeong Station, exit 8. It's about 5-10 minutes from the station, depends on your pace. Off the exit 8, just go straight.

You'll see a gas station right outside, keep walking until you see Hotel Circle on your right side. Then keep going, you'll see another gas station. Walk along the road until you see a junction, cross it, you'll see a 'Coffee & Beer' Cafe,

..... here you'll see a huge statue overlooking to the Hangang Park to your left. Ignore it though.

Pray for all the luck to be on your side upon going there. Yes, the artists, staff, trainees, dancers, etc .... do goes and buys stuff from the G25 minimart as well as eat out at nearby restaurant, especially the dancer. It's very much possible to see Sandara or the 2NE1's girls going into & out of the building. No worry, you could wait outside all day long if you want to, just don't go inside their compound. However there aren't too many fanboys that dare to go near the HQ. Usually they just came, look from afar & took picture then leave.

The YG Building is shaped to form HS, YG’s real name ‘Hyeon Seok’ so cool!!!
As stylish and sleek as their artists!! ~ 2ne1, Big Bang :D

So this is what the building looks like. YG Entertainment moved into this new building less than a year ago in February 2010. This six-story building has over ten recording studios and dance studios where all the YG artists like Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1, and Se7en get trained and groomed for every performance, album, and concert. YG currently has about 20 trainees from multiple countries, aged between early teens to early 20s.

Virtual image of how YG building looks like from the inside!

The YG Entertainment building is no recording studio/office. It is a vertically-integrated pop star factory/boot camp! There is a floor with a dance studio, a floor with a workout room and tanning station, a floor with a cafeteria and a waterfall, a recreational floor with pool tables and Segways. The basement is full-on merch studio, where workers print and design band tour tees and bobble heads and stuff.

B1 FL: Dance Studios and Cafeteria

YG Cafeteria. This is the place what Sandara Park is talking about in her “Star Diary“.

It is where they filmed “Try To Follow Me” Music Video.

YG prides itself in providing quality food and great amenities to their artists The menu changes every day. YG values loyalty and that’s what led the main chef to work here– she’s worked with Chairman Yang from his early career and he personally asked her to stay with him because he loved her food so much! The cafeteria was very clean and sanitary, and there were so much food and drinks available. This is also where the “Secret Big Bang (parody of Secret Garden)” video was filmed.

Right next to the cafeteria, there are two huge dance studios, where many trainees honing their dancing skills all day. They call this part of the building the “Factory.”

This is the heart and soul of YGE. Two of their largest studios are located on this floor
as well as a lounge where the artists can just rest and play around.
All the facilities, machines, and items were super high-tech, top-notch products.
This is the place where Sandara Park and the rest of the girls do their recording.

The interior and most of the items are hand-picked by Yang Hyun Suk himself.
In the lounge area, there’s a pocket ball table and a large flat screen with a PS3,

and a giant couch in the corner with Sandara taking a selca.

The wall was really cool with glowing LED titles of YG’s greatest hits.
The overall color of the area was black, creating a chic, trendy feel.

A PS3 player is available 24/7

A billiard table...

Sandara playing billiard on her free time.

She uploaded a picture on her me2day account with a comment, “Killing time in YG building. I play pool in my free time. Do I look like a good pool player?”

They even had a Segway parked in the corner,
which I believe are the ones used in their MVs and the concerts.

4th FL: Manager’s Office/ Media Center

The manager’s office and media center are on this floor. These managers are the ones who travel with the artists 24/7, so a lot of scheduling takes place here. The media center is where the video editing takes place (M/V or DVDs, etc.)

5th FL: GYM/ Actors MgtThe gym is where the YG artists get their workouts done. A management office of all the YG artists is also located here, so pretty much all the planning and strategizing happens on this floor.

6th FL: CEO’s Office/ Marketing and Accounting Departments

This is where the business gets done. YGE’s owner and master producer Yang Hyun Suk has his own office here right next to the marketing and accounting departments.  Everything is so clean and neat, and the people are so professional, you can tell this is YGE’s headquarters.

The sleek living room

Everything from the studio, recording devices, food and drinks, tech gadgets, and even the smallest interior item were just off the chart and no one from any artist complaining about poor working conditions at this place. That explains why we never really hear any complaints or contract disputes from YG artists. YGE is definitely a class organization and they continue pumping out more quality artists and lead the K-Pop boom across the world.
