My Name is Sandara Park, a KBS documentary on Sandara Park
while she was still living in the Philippines. It follows Sandara's life
as a top star in the country.It's also quite interesting to see
Sandara's rise to fame and also her bubbly personality.
She joined a reality-based talent search called “Star Circle Quest” from which she placed first. Her Korean ethnicity resulted in some trouble with the daily exercises set by the panel of Filipino judges. Though she had some comedic ability, she remained monotonous, dull or lacking in timing. What she lacked in talent, however, she made up with charisma.
During the last elimination round (in which only five people advanced),Sandara received approximately half a million text votes. She eventually finished in second place behind Hero Angeles.She was adored by many Filipinos because of her charm and “cute” Korean accent when she speaks Filipino. Who will forget the Sandara wave and her line, “Mahal ko kayo.”? (I love you all.)
