Sandara Park first entered the entertainment industry in the Philippines, and is the prime example of a Korean returning to Korea to debut in their motherland. August 1, 2007, Sandara has reportedly left the Philippines for good, returning home to South Korea with her mother and siblings to begin a new life. Recently, YG Entertainment claimed that they now signed a contract with a Sandara Park and YG have the confidence to let her be the next BoAIn the time between 2003 when Sandara Park became famous in the Philippines, and her return to Korea, she gained a huge amount of popularity. They say it was to the point that if you did'nt know Sandara Park, you were'nt a native Filipino.
Although her career in the Philippines is colorful ... nothing can beat the colorful career she now have in her own birthplace, South Korea. When she returned after being active in the Philippines, Korean fans gave her the nickname of the BoA of the Philippines. From the petite shy girl in the Philippines to a fierce confident lady in Korea. The innocence is still there but with a kick.
PRE-DEBUT
Before her debut, she was featured in a TV drama The Return of Iljimae as Rie,
and she also appeared as the lead actress in Gummy's music video for "I'm Sorry", together with labelmate T.O.P, one of the members of Big Bang.
In August 2009, Park was featured on G-Dragon's solo album Heartbreaker, with their song entitled "Hello". They performed together a couple of times on music events, shows, and also during G-Dragon's two-day solo concert entitled Shine A Light in December 2009.
SANDARA PARK AS A YG TRAINEE
Sandara Park started her showbiz career in the Philippines in 2004 through “Star Circle Quest” and finally came back to Korea in August 2007. Since then, she has been receiving acting trainings.
Sandara Park joined ABS-CBN's entertainment stable called Star Magic. In the height of her career, she gained a lot of support from Filipino fans. Her projects ranged from commercial endorsements to TV appearances. Sandara embarked on a musical career which led to the release of her self-titled album that contained the novelty dance hit "In or Out". The album sold at least 60,000 copies after 6 months of its release. She, alongside with Hero Angeles succeeded in movies as a loveteam but later on, Sandara ventured on movies without her on-screen partner.
In December 2004, YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun Suk offered Sandara workshop classes in South Korea after seeing the ABS Documentary My Name Is Sandara Park. In March 2005, she went ahead with the workshops, putting her career in the Philippines on hold. After six months, she resumed work in the Philippines, starring in several movies.
Sandara left the Philippines show business industry and returned to South Korea with her family on August 1, 2007. YG Entertainment announced the following day that Sandara Park had signed a contract with them.

She then added, “To commemorate 2NE1’s anniversary since its debut on May 17, I’m unveiling an old picture from my trainee days! I was so young back then.”

member T.O.P. acted a kissing scene with her in Gummy’s “I’m Sorry”
music video.

followed by “Gummy I’m Sorry,” “Gummy,” “TOP,” and “TOP Kiss Scene,”
respectively. In Daum’s “real-time news search” list, “TOP Kiss Scene”
ranked 2nd while “Sandara Park” ranked 4th.
The “I’m Sorry” music video revolves around the story of T.O.P’s character getting through the sadness of Sandara’s character leaving him.
Because of the unexpected turn of events, YG Entertainment could not help but express its surprise and a hint on what is next to come for Sandara Park.

The group then gained popularity and was labelled the Female Big Bang

2NE1 debuted in SBS Ikigayo on May 17, 2009 where they performed their digital single ‘Fire‘ produced by Teddy Park of 1TYM. In contrast to the ongoing girly-sexy image of Korean Pop girl groups, 2NE1 displayed a fierce girl power image. The group then released their self-titled album 2NE1 and started promoting their other song "I Don't Care". 2NE1 was awarded the "Super Rookies of 2009".
And the saga continues ... and Dara is considered one of the most sought celebrity in Korea and a global sensation today.
